Can anyone tell me what the limits are for a week stay, on what I can bring back, as far as alcohol and tobacco go, and also could they please say what they mean when I will get dinged big time, when I bring them back. I thought Duty free meant duty free?

Where are you going to enter the US from.... cause that will also define what you can get away with and not get away with... You are allowed one liter per person back into the US... one or two cartons of cigs.... as for Cuban Cigars... there is a place down town that willcut the bands off for you, put them in a plastic bag so that you can re-band them when you get home... just hide the bands in your suitcase some where.... the duty is 10% of what ever you paid for booze.... When we came back from Jamaica one year, we got stopped... and i showed my reciepts for my stuff and paid a whopping $8.00 for the extra.... it was the FREE bottle from the resort that put me over... they still included it in the total alcohol coming back to the US... aaaaaaaaaaaa

i have seen people take cases of alcohol back, and pay the duty cause they are still paying like half or more than what they would pay back in the states... it is all up to you.... sneaky or upfront honesty....

have a great trip....
