We have used our cell phone in Vallarta. But beware it can be costly. I would advise that you call your carrier and ask for the specific rates involved.
With Rogers, last week I was told: a $3.00 U.S. daily usage fee, plus $1.25 a minute, plus 75 cents a minute. One is a long distance fee, and one is the per minute charge. All in U.S. dollars.
