Re:Bug Repellent??
I figure it does not hurt to pack it, but that being said, I have taken it down the last six trips and it has yet to come out of the duffel bag. I think I average two or three small insect bights per trip.

Now if you are going into the jungles during rainy season, that is probably a whole different story.

Re:Bug Repellent??
In 20n years of visiting PV I have only needed it when I went into the jungle or spent a night in Yelpa which is hacked out of the jungle. In PV or on the beach I have NEVER been bitten. Stew
Re:Bug Repellent??
Consider bringing an ammonia pen if you are going swimming in the ocean. I never worried about it, but this recent trip was stung badly all over leg and arm by a jellyfish. Likely was just a fluke, as there were no warnings from resort staff, nor had any washed ashore.
Re:Bug Repellent??
Yes, I seem to recall an episode of survivor with someone having to pee on someelse because of a jelly fisk. Good to know as I will watch myself.

Svedish, are you going to update your site with your new pics?

11 days and counting for the Mrs and I :)
Re:Bug Repellent??
You know, I asked myself, \"self maybe this diver boy is correct\" So I Googled \"Sterile Urine\" and got 192,000 hits. Now, granted, I only went through the first 7 pages, but ALL the references said the same thing: Urine IS sterile. It does NOT have any bacteria or other pathegens or molds or anything bad as it leaves the body So please, ask any MD, and then feel free to pee. The RealDeal Chuck

Re:Bug Repellent??
Thanks for the espanol lesson. In twenty years I still am a slow learner. I must admit at times I come across harsher than I intend & I never mean to hurt others. I have spent over 5 years in Mexico in increments of 2 weeks to 3 months. I will again this winter be spending 3 plus months mostly in Zihuatanejo, but also a week in PV, & time in Colima, Taxco, Manzanillo & Costa Chica. When I post on a subject I try only to speak about things I have personal knowledge of not spreading false or misleading information
Anyways I do not wish to upset amyone. I come to this board & many others to share & to learn.
Re:Bug Repellent??
Nope driving this year. I have a amigo from Miami (Cuban by birth) driving to Zihua with me. Then my wife will be down mid February. We then will drive down to Coast Chica then to Taxco, Colima & PV. A week in PV then the long trip home together arriving around the first week of april.
