Book vacation now or closer to November for best price

If you can handle not knowing exactly when you are going - wait to book... for instance: we bought our package August last year for $1400 each and by March is was down to $1100.... saves you $600 for two people - for the exact same week at the exact same hotel...

I use selloffvacations.com for every booking. Never had any problems and they have always been the cheapest (although sometimes only by as little as $5.00).

And yes we will be flying out of Toronto!

november
I would be cautious in waiting too long, you might find that flights are full (for example from the west coast, Alaska Air is sold out Oct 27 - Nov 3) and you may find that your accomodation selection is very limited. We placed our TS in the rental pool for TG in Feb, it was rented within a week.
We go A1 and book charter flights...
We have never booked sooner than 3 weeks prior to our vacation..
We also have used Selloffvacations and would not hesitate to recommend them..

Whatever you choose to do I hope it works out for you..
Enjoy your vacation... :)
I bought our airfare and sent our condo deposit for late October back in mid March. Like Kat we travel out of LAX and are spoiled with the non-stops, which tend to sell out if you wait to long.
All the flights to Mexico from Toronto are non-stop. I have never had a stop over throughout all my travels flying out of Toronto which is great.
no if we fly out of buffalo NY, I think there may be a stop over!
I agree with booking early. We live in what of course is a resort area and there are rarely charters from one resort to another. We always book early and i can truthfully say have never seen the price from when booked to leaving, come down. I am so much more comfortable having the flights and the seats I want, early and then never having to think about it once done.

All I have to do is count the days and as of now, just 3 months and 11 days and PV for the 24th consecutive year. Never had a bad time PV has always met our expectations. We are blessed in having been able to spend the time in PV with all our wonderful friends. Many of us met in October 2002 and have arranged to get together at the same time since then. Jennybean and I first met in 2000 at the very first of the boards gatherings. Time flys.

You can also use them to check for flights from TO to PV. It will check all airlines for you and give you all the flight times that you can chose from. I just did a quick check from Buffalo for Nov 6 to 13 and it is listing flights for US$519 taxes inc. and with the way our dollar is right now that is about CAD$550. So it might be worth it to go that route. If you have a 1 - 2 hour layover and can save $350 bucks per person to me that is total worth it. Also remember that US Thanksgiving is Nov 22nd so if you are planning around that time flights will be busy and more expensive.
I also just found out that i can get my travel insurance through my back for pennies compared to the $260 for Medical/Trip inturuption/Trip cancellation that I usually pay every year!
I have never booked online before.
pauline2006 You are so right about the travel Insurance...
You also can call up our Insurance agent who handles your house and vehicles Insurance and they write up a very good policy for peanuts .. :)
If you are looking at one of the charter companies (Apple, Funjet, etc), consider buying their travel insurance. If the price goes down, they will refund you the difference. That happened to us last year, we booked in August for a December vacation and the price went down over $300 per person by the time we left, so we got that money back. Also, we were delayed getting home due to bad weather, and the trip insurance paid all our expenses for the extra hotel days, meals, taxis, etc.

Thanks so much, never thought of that as well! It just shocked me when I got a quote from Bank of montrel for $32 compared to the almost $275 i paid last year! Wow what a rip off!
if you go on a scheduled airline, keep checking the price even if you have purchased the tickets. we paid 438.00 on united out of sfo, then i checked our dates a month later and the price was 336.00. united sent us vouchers for the difference.
Wait
Unless you have a large group, you can usually get a great deal about a month before. I always ask my travel agent to find me something warm, all-inclusive, on the beach.
