Any general safety tips for me?

As in any large city, avoid being out alone at nite, stay in well lit areas. VAllarta is a very safe city. Maybe safer than where you live. But there are people who could prey on you. There are tourist police that will assist you. They speak some english. They wear white shirts and blue shorts. Have a good trip. Vallarta is a wonderful place.

I have been with other girlfriends and we have never had any problems...just dont go in dark streets and use common sense. As far as the police--no problems ever....dont let the Fed police scare you(they carry machine guns) they have on more than one occasion helped us ..they just look scary but are of help if you need it....the tourist police are very helpful and you see them often Have fun and dont drink to much when you first get there..will ruin the rest of your trip......Cant wait only 3 1/2 weeks until I go!!

Oh & BTW, use your French when approached buy the timeshare sharks.
