we have a set for us when we go biking along the trails down by Saylorville reservoir. if we get out ahead of the pack we have them to call back and forth to each other. great for camping and hiking the trails out here too...

we just might have to take ours along this year as well

I have taken them with me for several years and have never had a problem. I am the person that Smitty referred to as having them during Kenna. While all phones were out, we were able to communicate with family from the Velas Vallarta to the Marina de Oro (part of the Crown Paradise) across the inlet. Reception on W/T are limited by buildings. Most have a direct range of 3-5 miles. Some of the newer ones claim as much as 12 miles.
