1st time traveler!

Any advise for 1st time travelers??? I am flying there for my honey moon and want to know some details! Help me out please!

I think before we can help you out, we need to know a little more about you as your question is kind of vague and we know nothing about you. What kind of things do you like or not like to do? What area are you staying in? etc... Also, what kind of details do you want? Do you want info on tours and activities? Places that you can go see on your own? Once we have more details about you it will be easier for us to answer your question. 8)

Well I guess just all in general. We are staying at the Melia Puerto vallarta? Is this with in walking distance to shopping? What types of fun is there to do? Sorry that I am so vauge of what I want to know. But thanks for helping me out!

OK, I will start by telling you that the Melia is in the Marina. There are shops and some good resturants in the Marina but the main shopping is along the Malecon or on the south side of town. Not to worry you can catch a bus from the Marina to either of those areas, or you can take a taxi. If you walk out to the main highway the bus you will want to take with say Centro on it, it will take you right down to the Malecon area and if you stay on it, it will cross the bridge and take you to the South side of town. If you take the bus that says Tunnel you will end up on the South side but will by-pass the Malecon area. The Malecon is basically like a boardwalk right along the ocean with shops and resturants all along that street. There are all types of things going on down there all the time and it is a great place to people watch and a \"must see in PV\". The Romantic/South side of town will give you the more Old town Vallarta feel with great shopping, resturants, etc. There are also buses that go into the Marina which are labeled Marina, there just are not as many of them as there are the other two I mentioned.

I suggest you utilize this website to help you get your bearings. The map feature if you click on the zones will show you exactly where the different areas of town are and the different informational tabs will give you alot of info on the town, activities, etc. Then if you have more specific questions I am sure we can help you out with the answers you are looking for.

Fun things to do:
Stroll along the Malecon on a weekend evening
Spend the day on Playa Los Muertos beach
Visit the cathedral with the crown on the top
Ride a local bus

Things to remember:
Be careful not to get sunburned
Change your money into peso
