The ONE thing you like most of Puerto Vallarta?

No matter how long each of us live, Puerto Vallarta is responsible for the Beautiful Memories of the happy vacations that I, my wife, our children, and our grandchildren will forever remember. I can only imagine the scrapbook pictures my grandchildren will be showing to their grandchildren 50 years from now.

Hola..... I love the word Hola and the way it is so freely given .


and gobble stones streets and..... white washed buildings that hang on the mountains edge. The ones with beautiful flowers spilling over their balconies.

The feeling of being so relaxed that you loose all track of time. No other place that we have visited has ever come close to giving us that feeling.

People...both ex-pats AND locals.

Next is the beauty of the area (mountains, oceans, jungle etc.)

It is all so true, you read what every body has said about Vallarta... the views (mountains, ocean, jungle), the people (locals, ex-Pats, the staff at your favorite resort, or a beach vendor you see every year - My buddy Eddie down by the GCP), then those resorts that everybody loves to go back to each time each year after year... Vallarta is such a contagious city and atmosphere, there is nothing like her... so warm, loving, so caring... That is why we have been coming back for the last 12 + yrs...


Thank you again Vallarta... as well as Thank you Mogens for bringing us all together via the internet to share our thoughts, our ideas, and our love for travel..... you are the best....

I have to say the Sunsets & as pesky as they sometimes are - the Vendors are wonderful also.

I love the whole relax and enjoy yourself attitude. When we were there in February, I thought I would sleep in late, and then lay in the sun all day. Instead we were up every morning by 7, had breakfast, and then a leisurely stroll through town. We walked everywhere we went, and then went back to the resort for lunch and laying in the sun.

The sunsets over Banderas Bay come in a close second....

I cannot pick just ONE thing about this charming & quaint place that offers so much to travelers. Wrap it all up - the people, the beaches, the shopping, the food, the entertainment, the lightning storms, the sunsets (ahhhh), this forum (for tips, opinions, and a good read)!!!!!

I think the \"romance\" of the city... the love for the people, the love the people have for the city, the love that visitors have for Vallarta... it is just fantastic...

the BUS DRAGS! Exciting and cheap. Not as fun as they were 10 years ago, but still better than most of the rides at 6 flags! :wink:

ahhh the roar of the bus and he gets on the gas... and the smell of the diesel and it pukes by you... LOL those busses with their HUGE people catchers... that is right people catchers... hold on bars to save your butt with ... NOT

to me it is like stepping back to \"old world\" Mexico. It is not as touristy as the other Mexican resorts.

If you want touristy, go to Miami in Mexico (Cancun).

Old world atmosphere.....detinitely!

To me it has to be that the people are so happy with having next to nothing, But then agian they have what most of us dont have, ( Contentment )

I would say the old town sets PV apart from other resorts, and it attracts a special kind of people who return every year.

I finally figured it out from the above post. What I like about PV is that is different than home, in a good way. :idea:

I look forward to cocktails watching the sunsets over Banderas Bay prior to going to town for dinner.

No worries for 8 crazy days!!!!! Being away from Minnesota!!!!!!!!

just got back jan.24/o6. first time for my husband my first time back in 22 yrs. what a change. but i forgot how beautiful it is. I could not believe the love that is shown to there familys. fathers and sons arms around each other. mothers and daughters hugging its amazing the love they show each other. It made me miss my children even more and i will now consider taking them with us next year. as well we enjoyed the musicians along the malecon every night expecially arcano we bought all there cds.

On a day (Feb 14th)) that is to celebrate love we can start with the children we start with the family ........
I too love the physical display of love.

what empressed me most on my first visit to pv was the beautiful sunsets and seeing everyone stop for just a brief moment as the sun disappeared.even employees of the restaurants and hotels along the playa de los muertos. my tip for the day is, lie on the beach and just as the sun disappears, stand up and you will see the sun set twice.

thanks it sounds like a really nice and fun place. Im just looking into where we will stay next year. we prob. will stay at el pescador again we really liked it.

Sorry, Just thought of a bunch of other stuff.
This will be my second trip, but my wife has been going for several years.
WE have devolped a relationship with a beach vendor ( we stay at Villa del Palmar ) who has invited us to his home for dinner and met his wife and children. Thier values in life are something we could all learn from.
Each year we bring them trinkets from Canada, and they are most appreciated.
