sending private message

I am trying to send someone a private message. I just tried to send a reply to a private message someone had sent me back in November. The reply just sits in my outbox. How do I get the message to get sent?

Your message has been sent and is sitting the recipients inbox. The message sits in your outbox until the person reads it and then it goes to your sentbox.
