Status: Critical/ Endangered
General: Rich, subhumid forests covering small hills and volcanic formations (lava spills). Rains during four to five months yearly (rainy season June - September, October). Most trees lose leaves during the dry season.
Special: One of the most diverse forests of the World.
Fauna: Crucial point on bird migratory routes.
More than 70 endangered Mammal species.
Gray fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus)
Ocelot (Leopardus pardalis)
Ghost bat (Diclidurus albus)
Marsh mouse (Peromyscus perfulvus)
Dangers: Logging, settlements, agricultural pressure, poaching
