Mogens; sounds logical. Is the Peso tied closely to the US$ via NAFTA? That would explain the same ratio of peso/dollar, although there is also that tie with Canada and it is doing so much better? Thanks. Chuck... 8)

What would fuel the Peso valuation? They are running out of oil. Tourism is down. Real estate sales are down.

Exports to the US have been in decline since China joined the WTO.

The GDP is being driven by the easy availabilty of consumer credit. Just like in the US. How do the borrowers repay their loans? Many do so by working in the tourist sector or the RE sector.

Or so it usually goes with runaway inflation...the commodities were the first thing, a low dollar will start he foreign $$ coming into the USA and buying up all the commercial real estate and these millions of repos.
