Memorial Day Weekend - USA

Not a ramble but fact Tom, we enjoy the lives we have because it was paid for with the blood of our fallen. I will be enjoying this weekend holiday with food, fun and friends and but lets give a special thank you to all our military who made it possible and a personal thank you to your father, Tom.

Thanks Ozzy... Dad has been gone now for almost 18 yrs.. he died when he was 52 yrs old of a heart attack while on a riding lawn mower... Survived two tour in the Mekong Delta region of Viet Nam... crazy world... i am sure he is sitting upstairs scratching his head about all the things going these days with some of his old buddies...

little story- when we were in las vegas the third time we went to freemont street for the night and when they started the show above our heads the first thing they did was the american anthem. we were so amazed at how everyone held there heart and sang there lungs out and were so proud standing there doing there anthem it totally amazed us. we sang along because you couldnt help but feel what all the americans around us were feeling. The first thing when we got home, this was the story I told everyone.

My mom and dad have confirmed with me that they will indeed be joining us for Invasion 2007. My dad was a 25 year vet of the Canadian Army, so i am sure he will have a great time swapping stories with all of you.

http://www.screenpictures.com/music/greenberet.htm Tom thanks for the link I played it and the hair on the back of my neck still stands up listening to it just like it did when I heard it as a kid. I can still remember him singing it on the Ed Sullivan Show.

My father is still alive at age 88 he served in WWII in Europe he also earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star and 2 Purple Hearts. Over the years he has told us stories about being wounded but has never told us how he won the Silver Star or Bronze Star. Last year we met and talked to his friend of 60+ years and commanding officer during the war and he also did not want to talk about how he earned the medals. I guess unless you lived through it one will never really understand what they went through.

God Bless all the service men serving thier countries World wide.
And on the U.S. Memorial Day lets remember all that have died from all nations to give us a FREE World.
