I bought my condo in November. The realtor paid the CFE bill to date and got me a letter saying as much.
Recently i rceived a new letter saying our meter was reading \"incorrectly\". All last winter i paid my bills, even though they were higher than muy neighbors, despite the fact that my air conditioning was not used and all I had going was lights and a refridgerator. Bills were 2700 pesos per two months for 2200 square feet. Now they demanded 6500+ pesos more for the incorrect meter. They claim it ran from July 07 thru April 08, and billed me even tho I did not even own it that whole time.
I checked my bill online. It said i had a credit of $1500 pesos. Not so. A man came to turn it off, and would not leave until he was paid the $6500 pesos.
I think I have been had. Is CFE extorting this money frm me? It sure feels like it. If this could happen to me, it could happen to anyone.
