I have a question... (bringing seeds back home)

NO, you are not supposed to bring stuff like that home. Do you want to be responsible for bringing a disease or plant virus home that our native species have no natural immunity for or natural predators that will eat any bugs or eggs that might be hibernating or invisible to the naked eye.
If you go to a respectable garden centre you can purchase seeds there if they are in a package that clearly states they are legal for export.
Purple loosestrife was one of those plants that has invaded our country because someone thought oh gee, pretty plant I think Ill bring some of that home.
Dont do it. And thats my opinion, as a landscape technician.

Teens rooms.... :P Those same teens grow up ..have a place of their own one day and heaven help if Mom or Dad visit and make a mess...

You would need to get an import permit from th Aphis in the United States for the exact types of seeds you want to collect.

Then the seeds would need to be inspected in Mexico for disease and a Phytocert would need to be issued showing that they are fre and clear from disease.

In can be done but its not worth the bother. Virtually all the seeds you can find here will be available on ebay in the states or canada.

The only times its worth it is if you want to do commercial production of certain plants or seeds.

I never intentionally bring back sand but I always end up doing so anyway :lol: .

I pulled out my suitcases last night so I can pack for my trip to Cancun, and lo and behold there inside was some good ole PV sand from my November trip :lol: . Maybe I should start filling up jars after each trip instead of dumping it over the back deck! LOL.
