Hi, my name is Peg and, like popcornball, I have been lurking on this forum for a couple of years - since my first visit to PV. I love PV and the people, we are looking forward to the tropical rain and the thunderstorms. You all seem like friendly folk (well some seem a bit harsh) and it will be nice to chat. My husband and I are off to PV again on 13 Sept, I cant wait. We live in the UK so have a long flight to look forward to but it will be worth it. :D

Hi plus4 and thanks for the welcome. No not from Winnipeg although I had a great granny who ran a soup kitchen in Canada in the time of the gold rush! Can I be an honorary Canadian? :D
Welcome to th board Pegk.Of course that qualifies you to be a honourary Canadian :)
Wooohooo thanks! :D
welcome
Peg, welcome to the board from a fellow newbie. I have been to PV three times, and head back in November. Where are you going to be staying at thsi time?
I agree that the people here are friendly, and helpful as well. It is great to be able to pick the brains and hear experiences and recommendations from people who know what they are talking about. Its hard to believe endorsments from people once you are there, as they probably have a stake (comission or referral fee) in sending you to the place they are telling you is great. I am referring to locals and hotel employees, not fellow travelers.
I am so glad to have found this board prior to another trip to PV. With so much to do, so much to see, and so little time to do it, it helps to do research, and have a gameplan BEFORE leaving.

Welcome to both the newbies. I remember quite well when I first started to read this board as well. We really appreciated all the hints, tips and info. Our PV vacations were a real pleasure because of all the friendly advice.
Roowie, what are your nov. dates and where are you going to be staying?

Hello Roowie and Travelbug and thanks for you welcome. We are staying at Vallarta Jr Suites. On previous trips we stayed at Los Arcos but felt a bit tied so we are going to be able to eat out and do our own thing this time. Travelbug, I see you enjoy the Margeritas at Andales - it is one of our favourite places for breakfast and of course the nigntlife, we also go to Apaches as our chums who live in PV go there a lot!!! Another of my fave places is Canto Del Mar on the beach the waiters there are great and lots of fun. I am getting even more excited now just thinking about it. We would love to go in Dec to see the Whales but the only direct flights from the uk stop in October (why?) so when we do go in the high season it takes forever to get there as we have to have stopovers at New York or Houston. Oh well, I suppose it is worth it. Anyway, hope you both have wonderful trips on November.
to travelbug!
Joyce,
We will be staying at the Golden Crown Paradise from 11/2-11/10. This is going to be our 4th trip to PV (3rd stay at GCP). On our second visit, we actually went to Nuevo Vallarta and the Grand Velas AI resort. We had been scheduled to visit the Mayan Riviera, but Hurricane Katrina had other plans for us. Thankfulyl we had the travel insurance, and our travel agent got us rebooked with very short notice at Grand Velas. As relaxing as it was, we missed being in PV.

Hi Travelbug - no neither of us work at St Andrews. It is weird how these things come about isnt it. We live in Somerset and my husband works in the Nuclear Power Industry.
