Happy Labour Day in Canada

Not sure if every Province has a Labour day (Today Monday Sept 3rd) as a Stat, but we have it in Saskatchewan, and get the day off with pay. If you work, you get your regular pay, plus time and a half. Neat....

Now if we all saved these extra bucks for our upcoming trip to PV....

Just so any Rednecks out there reading this understand: this day has nothing to do with pregnancy and delivery rooms!

Today is the big Labour Day Parade in Toronto . It starts downtown and ends up at the CNE ( Canadian National Exhibition ) . My Union was enticing members to show up and participate by offering denim jackets to the first 400 plus free admission to the CNE . A good deal but I prefer a day of doing nothing . :)

Sad news for Southern Ontario this week when General Motors announced the closure of a full shift at the Truck Plant in Oshawa . Good paying jobs that we will never get back . :(

I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend - its always a good thing when a Monday of work is cancelled ! :)

Hope everyone enjoys a quiet, lazy day! Up here in the north the sun is shining and the wind is calm - Des and I plan to do nothing but relax today - and maybe a little clean up. Des roasted a 115 lb pig on Saturday in honor of the long weekend, the end of summer, vacationers returning to town, - well - just about any excuse that we could come up with!

Gotta love long weekends! :D

Happy Labour Day
We are in British Columbia vacationing but also helping family (decorating new home) make a move from Alberta to B.C. so today we will be working.....We took yesterday off to relax and play :)
I do like that in this area the stores and Businesses close for the holiday so families can be together..

Tonight we are invited to join in a bon fire weiner roast on the beach.
Plus 28 here today .... a beautiful day...
