Though Ramiz Barquet did not sculpt this piece, he was the one that donated it to the city and the Our lady of Guadalupe Parish, you’ll find it on the left side of the church in downtown Puerto Vallarta.

Ramiz Barquet, a prodigious artist that populated much of Vallarta with his many unique styled sculptures donated this work to the parish.

Despite being wrongly attributed to Barquet, this piece was cast in bronze by Augusto Bozzano, an important Italian master of whom Ramiz Barquet was protégé. Mr. Bozzano was the director of the famous Art Academy in Florence, Italy.
