Puerto Vallarta, an attractive destination for cruise ships

Puerto Vallarta has positioned itself as one of the most prominent coastal destinations for the cruise industry in Mexico, thanks to its strategic location, modern infrastructure, extensive air connectivity, variety of tourist attractions, high security standards, and the hospitality of its residents.

Luis Villaseñor, director of the city’s Tourism Trust, emphasized that upon arriving in Puerto Vallarta, cruise passengers are welcomed at the vibrant Magical Port, from where they have immediate access to beautiful beaches, shopping centers, supermarkets, restaurants, and bars, as well as being just a few minutes away by taxi from the charming historic center and its famous boardwalk.

During the first quarter of 2024, over 177 thousand passengers arrived in Puerto Vallarta on 58 international cruises, generating a significant economic impact estimated at over 21 million dollars. In April, the Puerto Vallarta Maritime Terminal will receive 23 international cruises, including two triple arrivals which demonstrate the growing interest in the destination.

Puerto Vallarta’s prominent participation in the Seatrade Cruise Global 2024 solidifies its position as a leader in the cruise industry in Mexico and lays the foundation for its continued growth in passenger arrivals, maintaining the positive trend of recent years.
